About South Bay Parents Online
Hi, it's me, South Bay Mom. For those of you who are interested, I grew up in the South Bay. Aside from a few years away at college, I've never really left the area. I love it here and plan to stay.
I met my husband through a mutual friend and we married in 2000. The following year our daughter was born (don't tell her, though, her daddy told her we got her on sale at Target).
I spent 15 years of my professional life as an Insurance Agent. I liked it a lot...it paid the bills and I enjoyed the flexibility of being in Sales. Unfortunately, a few years back the company I was working for took the flexibility out of the job (no more working from home on a laptop) and I opted to stay home with my daughter. Great choice, don't you think?
Since that time I've spent countless hours online scouring the Internet for ways to save, ways to earn a little extra spending money, parenting information, local activities, and more. I always wished there was one local website that had everything I needed.
That is exactly what you will find here at South Bay Parents Online. This site is chock-full of the advise, tips, and tidbits I have been sharing with fellow parents over the past several years. I hope you enjoy what we have to offer and will come back and visit often! The site will be updated frequently for your satisfaction. I just wanted to say,"Thank You" for all the useful information that you have provided to me. I have been a proud "stay-at-home" dad for the past four years and a couple of more months. I have an 8-year old and a soon to be 3-year old. My family and I moved to the South Bay over a year ago from Chicago, Illinois.
Information like this is priceless. Today is the 27th of June,2008, and I just wished I would've found your site when we first moved here.
Being a great parent at home is a full time job, and I can imagine running a site like this is another full time job, so thanks for your time.
We love this area(The South Bay),and thanks to you we will be doing lots of the activites that you provided.
